花朵是個很奇妙的東西，我們通常會把它們拿來送人，以表達自己的一片心意或向自己喜歡的人獻殷勤。它會讓人有種欣欣向榮的感覺，看到鮮花放在自己家裡，就會不由自主多了一份生氣。送花也是一門學問，在亞洲國家，通常送菊花都是在喪事場合才有的，不過，在西方國家就沒有這種通俗。而且，西方人送花的頻率比亞洲人多上許多，東方社會似乎都只會在特殊的節日才會送花，西方人當然也會在情人節特別送花給自己的愛人，不過，他們也很喜歡在日常生活中，不時的送上一束花給自己的情人、家人，以表達對他們的愛。另外，花除了送情人之外，很多人在探病的時候，也會送花，讓病人的病房裡面多了一些顏色也多了一份生氣。藉此，希望可以讓病人的心情好轉，讓病情快快好轉。

I just feel really happy. It's like a nice feeling really, like nothing else I can describe.

I prefer to give flowers than receive them.It's a quite simple gift for a boy, I think, not too much to think about hopefully. Can't really go too wrong with flowers either but I mean, any gift is a good gift so I don't mind receiving flowers, it's best sometimes.

Yeah, I feel happy; I feel glad that someone thought of me in the flower shop. It's like a romantic gesture.

I think it's a nice surprise if you're not doing it all the time. I purposefully don't give flowers on Valentine’s Day, I just do it sort of at ad hoc times because I think, you know,they're fresh, they're bright and cheer people up.

In this interview, most people feel happy when they receive flowers. I guess no one would go mad when they get flowers from someone, unless they detest the person very much. Well, flowers seem to be such a “safe” gift to someone you like. Some think it is really romantic and some people say that it cheers people up. When you have a beautiful vase at home, it is certainly perfect to have fresh flowers all the time. I also know that in western society, people love to do gardening themselves. One of the reasons is that most houses in the west have a front yard. Therefore, people would think that it is rude not to decorate your own garden.
